This has been the longest week. I cannot wait until Friday! I must brag that I won Karma’s Contest!! I guessed what had changed on her web site format first. I won a CD. Now I need o tell her which one. I am kind of embarrassed, since I am such an old goat. 43. I love Jackson Browne, Eagles, Elton John, Dan Fogelberg, the old stuff on all of these. I like some of the newer bands too. I am just not “up” on the latest and cool stuff. So I think I am going to ask for Nora Jones. She is really good, and just about the only “newer artist” I can relate to besides what my kids listen too.
I have been hooked on “The Shield”. It is a great cop show. Very violent, but I go so hooked on the characters last season, I just shut my eyes during the gory parts. We have the tape from last night, it is on to late for me *yawn*. I have to go to a City Council Meeting tonight, the perks of working for City Government. But now American Idol is on tonight too. What to do, what to do!

SO tomorrow is my birthday. The way this month is going I feel about 60 instead of 43. There has been so much drama that I could write a soap.
Grandma is at City of Hope in the final stages of cancer. Natalie got to come home from the hospital Monday afternoon, but by Monday evening she had gone into a seizure from low blood sugar (14) she was rushed back to the hospital. She will come home tomorrow. My husband has been very sick with the flu since Saturday. I am back to work today. It is almost a relief, as I don’t have to deal with sick people!
I did watch for the first time last night, American Idol. It’s all Karmas fault! She is so into it I had to see what it was all about. I have to admit, I enjoyed it. I laughed a lot. I needed that.
The one thing I did do while sitting in hospitals so much over the last two weeks was read. I finished the third and fourth Harry Potter, and Blessings. I got hooked on Harry after seeing the two movies and had to know what was going to happen. Thankfully the day I finished “The Goblet of Fire” they announced that the 5th book would be available on June 21. I can hardly wait. I better reserve my copy now!

ACK! I haven’t posted for over a week. Natalie was admitted to the hospital last Thursday the 9th, I have been going like a crazy person since then. She has Cystic Fibrosis, and her oxygen saturation went down to 86%, so she has been on oxygen and IV antibiotics. She will probably be ready to come home at some point next week. I have been running back and forth from work, home, hospital. CF is a horrible disease, and I worry about her. But she is a strong one. You can read more about CF here.

Happy New Year, finally, to everyone! I have been enjoying the reads but not posting much. Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas and New years. Dori has a new baby. Her story is so inspiring you should read it here.
I am back to work this week, after 2 weeks off. I feel rested and ready to get things done. But I miss my free time.
I spent 2 days at a dog show with my friend who breeds Newfoundlands. I finally got the nerve to ask her why she would consider breeding her dog, even though he is a champion, whose hips won’t pass the certification. I got an earful! So I just kept quiet after that. i have know her for 13 years, and she has only been showing these dogs for less than half that time, and has only had 4 litters total.
A diet will be starting on Monday. I am going to lose 25 pounds if it kills me! I will be using my treadmill, and trying to watch my diet. HELP ME!
