The Last Day

It’s the last day of February. It’s hard to believe time is flying by.  I pulled my back out a week and a half ago, and have not taken care with it.  So Friday when I woke up I couldn’t move.  The pain was intense.  I called Candice and she was able to take me to the doctors.  I was given a shot of something, and pain meds and a muscle relaxant, orders to take the meds and rest.  Now two days later I am much better. I haven’t taken any more medication today, I dont like the woozey fog it puts me in, one day of it to get through the pain was fine, but thats enough.

I went to a great art opening last weekend called Pits and Perspective.  The artist did portraits of the Vick Dog’s.  Here are a few pictures from the event, I will put up more at Daisys site later this week.

Monday Monday

Well the dressing table was much bigger than I thought it would be, but it fit nicely into the Forester, with the bench and mirror.  Now I am trying to figure out what to do with it.  It needs to be stripped, as it was poorly painted a couple times.  I will see what kind of wood it is then decide if I just want to repaint or strip it down.

I am remodeling a bathroom, and it looks like the work will be starting soon. I am excited to be able to do this, the bathroom is awful. When I bought the house tiles that were loose and broken were actually super glued  to the floor!  When you pull the tub spout to turn on the water it pulls away from the wall!  I can’t believe I didn’t make a bigger stink about he place, but I really wanted the house.

I will get some before pictures so you can watch the progress.  When the bath is done then the house gets painted, on the inside this time 🙂

Road Trip

I am driving up to Thousand Oaks today to see my Aunt (my dad’s brother’s wife, both dad and uncle are deceased).  She is moving and is having to downsize and has a dressing table, bench and mirror that were my grandmothers. She wants me to have them. She has 3 boys, so I am the logical one, the only girl.  I haven’t seen her since Nats services now 4 years ago.

I hope they fit in my Subaru!  I will take her to lunch then head back. The rain is supposed to start late afternoon and I do’t want to hit a bunch of traffic coming home.  I will take some photos of it, she says it needs refinishing.

Today is Ash Wednesday.  It will be 6 weeks until Easter.  I was raised Catholic, although right now I have some major issues with the Catholic Church and their attitudes about many issues, but that is not what I wanted to talk about.  I wanted to talk about how we always had to “give up” something for Lent.  I think this year I want to start something instead of giving it up.  I want to start some changes in my life.  And this might be a good time to do it.

Since I last posted my dearest friends husband died very suddenly, I turned 50, Natalie will have been gone 4 years and it will be also 4 years since the ex left me.  I realized that there are things that I don’t like about myself, and I can change them. So instead of giving up things I am going to start things.

I need to write more, it helps me deal with life. So I will be writing even just a sentence or posting a picture at least 5 days a week.  I need to also start to excercise more,  so I will be doing the same, 5 days a week between walking the dog and my Wii Fit, also I need to get things done. So each week I will be making a list of things I will do that week and get them done.  Of course this is all in addition to my regular job.

See you tomorrow.
